Open strategizing and accelerated internationalization process in different contexts

Purpose Due to the changes in organizational, social, cultural and technological factors, companies from different contexts are shifting towards open forms of strategy-making with more widened inclusion internal external actors greater transparency regarding their strategic issues, including internationalization processes. The purpose this paper is understand how Open Strategizing occurs accelerated process considering contexts. Design/methodology/approach authors conducted a qualitative comparative case study Brazilian English technology-based small medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) which rapidly internationalized. Furthermore, data was collected through semi-structured interviews, observations documental analysis. Findings suggest that openness contributes internationalization. Additionally, show home-country national affect openness. also disclose as crucial inherent internationalization, while context relevant but not determinant Strategizing. Originality/value contribute Strategy (OS) literature by presenting unfolds daily during evidencing role configuration dynamics international entrepreneurship (IE) advancing understanding strategies drivers adopted SMEs internationalizing an way.
